Tridosha (3-doshas- Vata, Pitta, Kapha) are the bio-energies which are the structural and functional unit of the human body. Tridosha (Vata, pitta, Kapha)maintain body functions just the same as the sun, moon, and air maintains the balance in nature.
These three doshas have great influence in each and every cell of our body. When any dosha gets imbalanced they start affecting their location and nearby organs and tissues. Each one of them has its own function in the body like:
1.Vata-Responsible for all sorts of micro and macro movements in the human body.
2. Pitta- Digestion, transformation, metabolism, and changes.
3.Kapha-Union, stability, and strength.
Each dosh have five subtypes-
Vata –Prana ,Udana,Saman,Vyana,Apana
Pitta –Alochaka, Ranjaka, Brajaka, Sadhak, Pachak
Kapha –Kledak, Bodhak, Avalambak, Shleshmak, Tarpak
Seven reasons why its important to know them well:
- Dosha influences a person’s physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of life, and if anyone knows them well he can manage life well.
2. Dosha gives clarity to understand body constitution. (body constitution is individual nature) ( प्रकृतिशरीर स्वरूपं )
3. Dosha gets influenced by our food and lifestyle.
4. Healthy and unhealthy state of an individual depends on the normal and abnormal condition of tridosha.A.H.S.1/6 विकृतविक्रीता देहं हन्ति तेवार्धयन्ति च। so knowing them well is going to help us to understand well.
5. Vata, Pitta, Kapha are the cause of body existence-वातापित्तश्लेश्मावादेहंसम्भवहेत्वा।
6. If any person consumes an irregular diet and lifestyle, which is similar to the attributes of dosha, they really get disturbed and create an imbalance in the whole body.
7. Doshas are the bio-energies which have the nature to get disturbed and do the same for related body organs.
For example:
Balanced Vata person –will carry little lower body weight, always carries positive vibes, creative, initiative, clarity of thoughts, great wisdom, perfect sleep, great digestion, and able to attract prosperity into life.
Imbalanced Vata Person – Body pains, very dry skin, disturbed sleep, agitated, irritable and low self-confidence, hair fall, constipation, bone pain.
More interestingly Vata is considered as God as it gives a smooth connection between body, sense, mind, and soul. So the quality of life totally depends upon the status of Vata in our life.
And there are food components and some basic daily and seasonal rituals that can balance and imbalanced these three doshas.
So the final conclusion is balanced VATA, PITTA, KAPHA is equal to a balanced life.
